Celyn’s Fey Safety and News

Celyn does in fact take the time to come up with some basic fairy safety things, though he’s sort of hilariously grouchy about it at the beginning. It eventually becomes clear that he genuinely doesn’t remember some of the basic things he needs to explain because they’re too obvious to him to lay out and thus he’s gotten frustrated at the “where do I even start” component. (Possibly it will take Robin helping him sort it out for him to get started properly. Robin having both more patience with the necessity and shared relevant knowledge. They may need to rope in the rest of the party as people can ask for clarification along the way though.)

Once he gets past the “how to begin” problem, though, the result is actually reasonable and does contain specialist guidance on ‘if you see these kinds of signs, that’s worth mentioning’, because that is in fact one of Celyn’s fields of specialist knowledge.

Celyn gets a letter on the morning of the trial that he seems to find mostly soothing, though he does want to talk it over with the party. Which means he finds people in a moment of quiet when there isn’t something else going on, settles in next to Robin, and says, “I have some news from Tyrwingha, the Players saw the lady who turned back the skeletons at Eskbridge. Her and her forces, and I’m pretty sure she was fey.” He pauses. “And apparently there are a lot of elk in the Mostreve Hills. Which is where I’m from. And people disappearing, more than usually take the Queen’s bargain and depart for fey lands.”

He adds to Robin, with an almost wistful tone, “I did promise I’d tell you if I saw any elk but rumors of elk at home is the closest I have, I guess. The lady who went to fight the skeletons was riding one, also."
