Chaos Metal is the commonly used name for the strange metallic substance, mutable and ever-changing, associated with Limbo. It typically occurs as a silvery, mercury‑like medium, that can take on complex shapes and even form living structures when compelled by a strong will.

In the absence of a guiding mind, it tends to collapse into an inert slurry of shifting colors and textures. Contact with this slurry is reported to be hazardous, potentially causing unwanted transformations in those subject to its effects.

Chaos Metal is extremely rare on the Material Plane, typically occurring only in regions heavily affected by Limbo or near weak points connected to Limbo.
