The Battle of Heartroot Vale

The Battle of Heartroot Vale was a climactic victory by the forces of the Refounded Alliance of Aurbez and the Dunmar Fellowship against the Iron Fang hobgoblins and the Empress of Chaos.

The Rangers and the Aurbeze and Lizardfolk defenders, aided by a vast magical illusion and shapeshifting magic provided by Seeker and his simulacrum, Seeker 5, lured the hobgoblin host into an ambush. With Vindristjarna and an illusory dragon providing air support, the Iron Fang hobgoblins were bogged down in battle. But with the defenders bogged down as well, the Empress of Chaos sped past aiming for the Heartroot itself, using decoy troops on flying chaos-metal hawks to distract Vindristjarna and the Dunmar Fellowship.

Noticing the deception, the Dunmar Fellowship raced to intercept the Empress of Chaos, using Teleport to arrive at the vale in time. With a Force Cage protecting the Heartroot itself, the Fellowship attacked. The battle seemed to be won when the party defeated the Empress, but her Chaos Metal armor erupted into a cataclysm of elemental chaos, unleashing a devastating attack that disrupted the Force Cage and exposed the vulnerable Heartroot. To stop it, Kenzo transformed into a silver dragon, destroying the elemental cataclysm, saving the Heartroot, and then turning on the last of the Iron Fang survivors, leading a devastating counterattack that shattered the hobgoblin lines.
