The Desolation of Cha’mutte, often called the Drankorian Wastes, is a large area of magically cursed and dangerous land, corrupted as a result of the events surrounding the Fall of Drankor in DR 1059. Typically, the Desolation of Cha’mutte refers to the area around the ruined city of Drankor itself, though the borders of this poorly explored region are ill-defined. Rumors through the years have suggested a wide range of dangers, from fetid, undead-haunted swamps, to arid deserts, to humid jungles full of overgrown ruins, to cursed and ruined cities haunted with restless dead and consumed by a pervasive aura of fear.
