The Outer Ocean

The Outer Ocean lies beyond the Eastern Isles, outside the enclosed waters of the Green Sea.
Names
In Common, these distant waters are typically called the Outer Ocean, picked up from halfling sailors on the Green Sea, for whom it is the ocean beyond, or outside, the Green Sea.
On maps and in scholarly texts, this ocean is often called the Eastern Ocean, translated from the old Drankorian scholarly label.
Many cartographers and poets refer to the Encircling Sea, reflecting the common belief that the Endless Ocean and the Outer Ocean are united as one single body of water surrounding the known lands.
All these names, however, are exonyms. The peoples of the Eastern Isles and other lands bordering the ocean presumably have names of their own, but these have not yet been invented.
