Fort Varian

Fort Varian guards the northern mouth of the Old Chardon Canal, where the canal meets the Gulf of Chardon. It is built on a small island in the marshlands, but has no accessible harbor for merchant ships or travelers. Services and a safe port may be found nearby at Nevium.
This fort, a striking castle rising from a prominence among the salt marshes of the northern entrance to the Old Chardon Canal, is the most significant of the Chardonian Navy’s fortifications in the area, and serves as the departure point for the canal’s daily southbound convoy.
