Padma is the master of a caravanserai waystation, often called the Darba Gateway Inn by foreign travelers, on the Tokra-Darba Road; it is one of the first waystations on the west side of the Copper Hills, and well-defended, making it a safe haven from the occasional dangers of the Copper Hills. Given this location, Padma is generally well-positioned to receive and pass along news.
In late July 1748, her caravanserai was briefly cut off from Tokra by wyverns who had made a nest in the ruined mining town of Vandar. She was pleased to receive news that the Dunmar Fellowship had killed the wyverns and the road was clear.
