Yendalism

Yendalism is a school of metaphysical cosmology associated with the Stoneborn metaphysicist Yendalo. It rejects the detailed categories of the Standard Multiversal Model and instead divides the planes according to their relationship to the Land of the Dead, which Yendalists call the Divine Veil.

In Yendalist thought, the Inner Realms are the planes on the near side of the Divine Veil, including the Material Plane, Feywild, Dreamworld, Plane of Souls, Energy Realms, Plane of Magic, and many Demiplanes. The Outer Realms are the planes beyond the Veil, especially the Spiritual Realms, together with the Veil itself and the Plane of Creation.

Yendalists argue that this division matters because souls cannot naturally sustain themselves in the Inner Realms after death, while they can endure as they cross the Land of the Dead and in the spiritual realms beyond it. The Divine Veil therefore both separates the Inner and Outer Realms and provides the passage through which souls move between them. Yendalism also challenges the centrality of the Material Plane and Plane of Souls, and some Yendalists claim that the souls of all denizens of the Inner Realms are reflected in the constellations of the Plane of Souls.

Yendalism differs from many standard academic cosmologies in its emphasis on contemplation and mystical perception as powerful forms of inquiry that can reveal novel metaphysical insights into the ordering of the Multiverse.
