Yeraad

🔈 (yeh-RAHD)

The Yeraad is a wide, winding river that flows from the foothills of the Sentinels, through the southern parts of the Elderwood, and across the lowlands to the Emerald Bay. It is a generally slow and winding river, carrying a great volume of water. The Yeraad valley is a broad, low-lying basin surrounded by higher ground; numerous small swamps, wet riparian forests, oxbows, small lakes dot the river basin.

From the confluence of its two principal headwater branches, the Yeraad keeps its name through the lowland swamps to the Emerald Bay. It gathers many tributaries along its course, draining a large basin from the Elderwood and Chardon Hills in the north to the Chataan Mountains in the south.

Its name derives from the old Northros name, meaning Green River.
