The Ring of Elemental Binding

One of the treasures of Airion the Mistspeaker, recovered by Azar the Lost during his search for lore about elemental magic, genies, and living ocean water. According to Azar’s Tale, the ring could bind a genie and command one service from it.

Azar used the ring to compel Nimessa, a marid of the Elemental Plane of Water, to steal living water from the Sentient Ocean and bring it to Hamri. The Ciphered Scroll records that Nimessa had little choice but to obey and that she could not harm Azar until a thousand and one days had passed after the command.

The spent ring, no longer magical, remains a valuable gold-and-sapphire ring, given by Azar to Ovina as payment for the construction of a lead-lined box meant to quiet the Blood Knife.
