The Dandelion House
- Destroyed October 7th, 1740
A Drankorian manor house in the Varrow Forest, the Duchy of Telham, Sembara, Greater Sembara
Dandelion House is an ancient late-Drankorian manor in Varrow Forest, northwest of Tollen.
The house is both majestic and decrepit: a large stone manor, hundreds of years old, with missing window panes, warped doors, vines, moss, brush, and saplings overtaking much of the structure. Despite the decay, its stonework remains solid; its facade bears a dandelion puffball motif, and its empty upper windows and open front doors can seem either like a masterpiece of late Drankorian architecture or like a face waiting to consume visitors. The grounds, though overgrown, contain the remnants of the ancient manor: parts of an old wall, a ruined gate with traces of a portcullis, and a long-swallowed moat.
A hidden door in the root-covered lower cellar leads into a vast root tunnel connected to the Twilight Kingdom in the Feywild.
In 1740 DR, Lord Hulda claimed the overgrown estate, through an old deed that made his inheritance conditional on ending a treaty beyond the hidden door. Soon after, it was destroyed under mysterious circumstances. Now, the surrounding forest is said to be haunted by strange fungal creatures with spores that eat souls.
