Alden is an alien fungal child of the Prisoner in the 27th Room, who appeared as a human servant and guide in Lord Hulda’s employ at Dandelion House. He is short, round, pale, quiet, and stronger than he looks. Although attentive and usually smiling, he rarely volunteers much conversation. He has a pronounced fear of fire, keeping his distance from campfires and open flame. He has a deep, almost rapturous, affection for Dandelion House and its dandelion imagery.
Alden, along with many other fungal aliens, was killed by Lord Hulda when the Prisoner in the 27th Room was set free and disappeared to a strange alien realm.
