Highmoor
- A moor in Carlinshire, Addermarch, Greater Sembara
The Highmoor is a band of rolling downs, rocky ridges, scrub, and broken limestone outcrops north and east of Roscombe, between the settled approaches of Carlinshire and the higher ground of Westcliff. It is less wooded, poorer-soiled, and more thinly settled than the Stonewolds to the west. Its people are mostly shepherds, cattle-herders, charcoal burners, and crofters living in tiny upland villages.
Rough cart tracks cross the moor between Roscombe, Brantor, and scattered highland settlements, but travel is slow and exposed. The moor supports pockets of woodland, sheltered dales, small springs, summer pastures, and isolated caves or hollows.
Locations
Haldrenn is a remote Highmoor village known for cattle, charcoal, and wooden ridge-wards tied to local fey traditions.
Nightsong Roots is a fog-filled hollow east of Haldrenn, where the roots of a fallen tree form a portal to the Thornweald in the Feywild.
A cave system in northern Highmoor was turned into a trap-filled lair by goblins in DR 1715, until the lair was cleared by the Addermarch Mercenaries after the goblins captured Colette du Bois and stole an alchemical recipe sought by Caradoc.
