The Chalyte Refining Corporation is a chartered corporation, granted an imperial monopoly on the processing of raw chalyte ore within the Chardonian Empire. It is managed by a board of control, with equal seats for the Windcallers and the workers’ guilds, with the Magistros holding the tie-breaking vote. It currently controls and operates three chalyte refineries on the North Bank of Chardon.
It was founded in DR 1749, when the Magistros, in light of corruption within the Curia of 42 and the Chamber of Stamps, claimed direct control of the chartered chalyte monopoly, with the aid of the new source of chalyte in the Chataan Mountains secured for Chardon by the Dunmar Fellowship.
