Rayna is a Mawaran sailor descended from Ocean Watchers. She was born at sea in 1713 and raised mainly by her maternal grandfather, Caleb, who taught her stories of Mawar’s golden age and the old ocean-watching traditions.
Since her youth, Rayna has heard the ocean in songs and visions. Those songs fell silent for years after a nightmare of tearing and loss, then returned in 1749 with a plea to recover a trapped fragment of song from an old shrine of Guzo the Mariner near Hamri.
In May 1749, Rayna came to the Leviathan Inn and asked the Adventurers of Mawar to find the lost song. After the party recovered the fragment from the Shrine to Guzo the Mariner, she took it westward, sailing toward Apporia and the merfolk city of Omi.
