Chirce

Chirce was a charismatic and opportunistic Illorian pirate captain. In DR 1552, during the the chaos that consumed Dunmar after the Great War, he claimed lordship over Darba and its surrounding coastal plain, after leading a mixed force of Dunmari and Illorians against an invading orc horde. He fortified the city and established an administration largely focused around enriching himself.

In DR 1559, Samraat Nayan Kundar drove him from Darba in retaliation for Illorian piracy along the coast. By then, few local people supported Chirce, and his mercenaries proved no match for the Dunmari cavalry. He subsequently fled north, and made Pergia his capital. For a time he controlled and gained significant wealth from trade through the Old Chardon Canal; his pirate kingdom occupied much of what later became Portalia and parts of Cedrano.
