Marius of Drankor was a young Drankorian singer whose songs comforted worshippers at the Temple of the Eight Divines, especially those suffering under Apollyon’s reign of terror. Born in DR 1034 to a family devoted to Mos Numena, he grew up among the faithful who remained committed to the traditional ways of worship, learning the hymns and songs of The Father at secret religious gatherings after worship of the Eight Divines was driven underground.

In DR 1050, at sixteen, Marius led The Hymn of the Dawn at a forbidden prayer gathering. As he and five companions left the temple, enforcers of the Omnis Pura ambushed them. He fought to give the others a chance to escape, but was captured, and disappeared. Marius was sacrificed by Apollyon in DR 1053, becoming one of seven souls bound into Apollyon’s Phylactery.

His story is recorded in the Book of Martyrs of the Radiant Path, a hidden record and memorial kept by the priests of the Radiant Path of those disappeared and taken during Apollyon’s reign, though his fate was unknown for many centuries, until the Dunmar Fellowship ventured to Drankor to defeat Apollyon.

On May 24, 1749 DR, Kenzo freed his soul in the Land of the Dead by speaking of spiritual refuge and fighting to protect others, helping Marius remember his courage and resistance to oppression so he could pass on.
