Khemut Ledger Ink Sketch
An ink sketch of Khemut, recovered among the magically preserved shipping records in Drankor’s Custom House.

Khemut of Targu was a human sailor and tea merchant who sailed aboard the Selem Shurga (“Sword of the Wind”). She grew up in Targu, an island port in the distant archipelagos of the Far South. Her ship brought spices and tea to Drankor in exchange for magic and silver.

During a visit to Drankor in DR 1043, Khemut disappeared after a night of drinking. She was last seen leaving the Bubbling Tankard, where she had been celebrating a bonus from her ship’s quartermaster. She never returned to the Selem Shurga.

Khemut remained captive until DR 1053, when she was one of seven people sacrificed by Apollyon whose souls were bound into his phylactery. Her fate was unknown for many centuries, until the Dunmar Fellowship ventured to Drankor to defeat Apollyon, and learned of her history.

On May 24, 1749 DR, Wellby freed her soul in the Land of the Dead by describing the sights, sounds, and daily work of life at sea, restoring her memories of the Selem Shurga and the wind so she could pass on.
