The Way of the Stone

An alchemical tome, written before DR 1600, by an unknown author

The Way of the Stone is a fragile alchemical tome written in Draconic. The book contains recipes for invulnerability, youth, immortality, and related elixirs. But all the recipes depend on something called the Prime Arcana, which is only loosely described as a magical stone associated with transmutation magic.

One extant copy was found on Grimstone’s corpse after the Labyrinth Prisoners killed him in his laboratory beneath Perdoli Manor; based on Grimstone’s notes, he believed that the Prime Arcana could be made from the right petrified living victim, but the veracity of this statement is unknown.
