The Shape of Possibility

The Shape of Possibility is a Drankorian metaphysical treatise, combining magic, mathematics, and metaphysics in an attempt to describe possibility as a mathematical shape.

The treatise argues that every moment contains a finite number of possibilities, each with a shape that can be represented mathematically. These shapes recur in similar, but not identical, variations, raising the possibility that a sufficiently complex model could describe every possible future outcome of a sequence of events at once. The closing section reverses the argument: after an event has happened, possibility can be treated as singular, with the whole event existing simultaneously.

The book uses a story as a metaphor, where the full story exists on the page at once but is experienced sequentially by a reader.
